Jonas Åkerlund’s long-awaited Rammstein: Paris film hit screens in March this year. And now the ‘making of’ film is set for release online.
Filmed in 2012 in Paris’ Bercy Arena, the concert film captures the ferocity and scale of Rammstein’s gargantuan live shows.
To promote the DVD release, Rammstein are releasing the behind the scenes film from directing collective M.O.D, capturing the planning and execution of one of the biggest live music shows on earth. You can watch parts one and two HERE. With part three to follow later in May.
Of the film M.O.D said; “the three days we spent in Paris with Jonas and Rammstein in 2012 were as insane as you might expect. The fans were incredible and the energy we felt from the front row between them and the band was like nothing else we have experienced. We aimed to document the scale, passion and heat of the concert through the army of people needed to create such as music spectacle along with the band. The series of films that have been made we hope convey just that!”
“Concert films are always a big challenge. I compare it to shooting fireworks. The way I approach it is to try to translate the energy that you get in the room onto film, using every trick in the book to make as much of an impression as I can on the audience”. Jonas Åkerlund.
