Casper Balslev’s new video for Communions’ ‘It’s Like Air’ perfectly embodies the song’s 90’s era Suede and Blur vibes.
The VHS montage sees the video skipping between the band having a kick about, rehearsing, and hanging around a race track. With its split screen home video aesthetic, the video is as referential as the guitar pop that soundtracks it.
Speaking to Noisey, Casper said the video “sees Communions moving through a latter part of life. A wild, freeform, trip of banalities. A film that was all about the band, them as characters, their relation to each other and the world around them. The vision was to create a film that was real, visceral and romantic.”
Communions have just kicked off their European tour, you should try catch them before they inevitably hit the big time.
