Telling a story of empowerment and artistry, “How Far I’ll Go” captures Alessia Cara as she sings to the ocean and simultaneously creates a masterpiece.
Aya Tanimura does it again, this time bringing us to a gorgeous sunset at the beach. Shot in the picturesque landscape of El Matador Beach in Malibu, CA, the video captures the Alessia Cara as she climbs rock to rock, builds a tool out of driftwood and draws intricate designs into the sand as waves brush up against her feet. Gorgeous aerial shots of the coastline decorated with swirls combined with subtly slowed down shots of Alessia’s curls in the wind makes this video simply mesmerizing.
“How Far I’ll Go” comes from the soundtrack of Disney’s upcoming animated film Moana , a story of a young Polynesian princess and born navigator who sets sail in search of a fabled island of mysterious secrets. Alessia Cara performs the beautiful song written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, empowering young women to go after their dreams and push “how far they’ll go”.
Watch the video above, keep up with Aya Tanimura’s work here and catch Moana in theatres this Thanksgiving!
