Thinking of You has bags of swagger and summer sound to spare. It’s time to take notice of Mabel.
Renowned for it’s biblical storms and unforgiving muddy fields, year on year Glastonbury Festival relies on a few special performances to lift the mood. One of 2016’s breakout acts, Mabel, was on fine form serving up a solitary ray of sunshine with her sun-soaked 90’s R’n’B. And now she’s dropped a new video courtesy of Black Dog’s uber-talented new signing, Joe Alexander.
The daughter of 90’s singer/songwriter Neneh Cherry and music producer Cameron McVey, Mabel has been touted as “one to watch” by Fader, Vogue, and NYLON.
Mabel’s new video for “Thinking of You” is a soulful, colourful musing on lust, love, and new romance. If you’re familiar with East London, you’ll recognise some of the shots as Mabel and co. bust out the Reeboks and the bombers.
Expect to hear this tune being belted out everywhere (when we finally get our annual sprinkling of UK summer).
