Andy Hines’ spot for TriBeCa Film Festival has earned him three prestigious accolades at the 2016 Cannes Lions.
The up-and-coming director was awarded a Silver Lion in Media, a Bronze Lion in Cyber, and a Bronze Lion in Promo & Activation at the international advertising festival. The campaign, created out of JWT New York, was for TriBeCa’s ReActor Experience – the world’s first computerized acting judge. The product combined voice and facial recognition technology with motion sensors and invited people to act out scenes from famous movies like When Harry Met Sally and The Sixth Sense, then sent participants YouTube links of their best performances to share with friends.
“Tribeca has been at the forefront of interactive storytelling—from immersive experiences to virtual reality—for a number of years. We wanted to get the community excited about what they can be a part of during the festival, and the ReActor sets the stage for that,” said Bari Komitee, TriBeCa’s vice president of marketing.
Congratulations, Andy Hines! A huge achievement and we couldn’t be happier for you.
