If you only watch one Daniel Kragh-Jacobsen music video for Reptile Youth this week, make it this one.

Taken from Mads Damsgaard Kristiansen aka Reptile Youth’s latest EP Away, “Arab Spring Break Part 1 & 2” lends itself perfectly to the pastel-washed, cinematic treatment Daniel has given it.

The director collaborated with the Danish musician on the video, telling Clash Music: “I wanted to portray relationships. But this story is not only about relationships between lovers, it’s also about friendship. To me the dynamic in relationships is a very fragile thing, and it’s so interesting that it can change from positive to negative in a split second. And it’s fascinating that we can’t control it. I don’t have an answer to what is good and bad when you’re in a relationship. I simply wanted to try and portray feelings that I have experienced, and I believe others have as well.”

Captivating and nuanced, it’s a constantly flowing and ever-evolving piece that captures the director’s immense talent and the perfect pop that inspired it. Take a look.
