The UK Music Video Awards (UKMVAs) are an annual celebration of creative and technical excellence in music video making around the world, and we’re thrilled that our talented roster is amongst this year’s nominees!

Music videos will be celebrated at the ceremony as a form of creative expression, entertainment, and for being an effective way to bring music to the world. Black Dog directors Ryan Hope, Laurie Lynch, Shynola and Jonas Åkerlund are all in the mix for their work with artists Sam Smith, Oscar, Hot Chip, and Jay Z & Beyonce, respectively. Recent Black Dog UK signee Carlos Lopez Estrada also was nominated for the video he created for Hook N Sling through Doomsday.

UKMVAs editorial director, David Knight told Music Week, “We’re honoring the creativity and technical skill of the people who make them – from directors to editors, artists to animators. This year the quality of entries across over 30 categories has been so strong that the task of coming up with the list of nominations has been more difficult than ever. But ultimately the nominations reflect the extraordinary extent of talent and craft that’s been applied to the making of music videos in Britain and around the world.”

This year’s UK Music Video Awards takes place in London on Thursday November 5, and rumor has it there will be fireworks. Stay tuned, and good luck to all the nominees!
