Laurie Lynch is a spectacularly talented young director you’re about to hear a lot more from.
His short film Mark was selected to screen at Cannes Film Festival. It’s a gripping and clever piece from the UK-based auteur that will keep you guessing right up until the very end. Laurie has also created a series of acclaimed music videos for the likes of Liars and New Young Pony Club, and collected a number of Vimeo Staff Picks along the way.
Recently, he teamed up with baritone Britpop talent Oscar for two videos. i-D/VICE named him in their Top 5 directors to watch and described those videos saying, “Lynch captured disaffected youth dancing in Daffodil Days but took Beautiful Words — the title track off Oscar’s recently released EP — in a trippier, technicolour direction. As Scheller’s sweet guitar sounds continue to captivate an audience far outside his native London, we’re hoping Lynch’s visuals accompany whatever’s up next for the modern day Morrissey.”
He has a unique vision and a serious talent, leaving us equal parts impressed and excited for what’s up next.
