Black Dog UK’s own Johan Renck is gearing up to flex his episodic muscles again, this time for Netflix’s new program from the creators of Damages. You might remember that Renck previously directed episodes of some of our favorites, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, and Bates Motel. But like so many of Hollywood’s top talent, Renck is moving over to Netflix to direct the pilot of a new series from Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler.
The 13-episode order is an as-yet-unnamed psychological thriller about a family of adult siblings played by Kyle Chandler, Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini, Jacinda Barrett and Sissy Spacek.
This announcement comes just after the launch of his Swedish TV debut, a miniseries called The Old Country Was Serenading Me. In Johan’s own words “it is an intricate, dark and violent comedic drama about some kids from the projects ripping people off via various skimming methods over the Internet. Complications ensue.”
More as we get it, but we know what we’ll be binge watching shortly.
