Miley Cyrus is known for pushing the boundaries with Black Dog when it comes to the visual expression of her music, and her latest video release with Atlanta rapper Future doesn’t disappoint. Directed by US director and fashion photographer Rankin, the hotly anticipated video for Future’s pop ballad “Real and True” features Miley Cyrus and Mr. Hudson in a space-themed tale. The clip opens with Future and Mr. Hudson on a rescue mission to locate and save the former child star, who is stranded unconscious on a moon-like planet.
Back at the space station, Miley (whose strapped-down nude body is adorned in silver metallic body paint) is successfully revived by Future, inciting an interstellar romance. Future, who is also known by the nickname Astronaut Kid, told MTV, “It’s about somebody sacrificing their life for love. This video is probably one of the most special videos to me.” The cinematic treatment sees the consequences of the forbidden love affair between astronaut and alien unfold with Rankin’s thematically appropriate out-of-this-world visuals.
